Old Pueblo Lapidary Club Field Trips

A trip to the Ray Mine has been scheduled for Friday, March 14, 2008. We will meet at 7:30 a.m. in the Trader Joe’s parking lot at the southeast corner of Oracle and Magee. If you are not there by 7:30 a.m. we will assume you are not coming.

From the parking lot, we will travel in designated vehicles which will take us into the mine. The mine is located 90 miles north on Route 177. We will be back between 2 and 3 p.m.

The trip will give priority to OPLC members who have not been to Ray Mine. You will need: a hard hat, safety glasses, long pants, long sleeved shirt, sturdy shoes (no sneakers), rock bag or bucket, rock hammer, water, and snacks.

1. We need drivers who have a van or SUV which can accommodate the driver and at least three passengers. If you would like to be a designated driver, please call me at 760-8704.

2. There is a nonrefundable $10 trip fee for passengers. It will go to the drivers for fuel and a carwash.

3. Signup will be at the Saturday, March 9th meeting at 8 a.m.
